Our Banner rock is our First Rock Story
The story behind this rock comes from one of our good customer in Villa Park, Ca. Eddie at the time, was a newly retired Orthopedic surgeon that was renovating his garden, since he had all this time on his hands. Eddie, said back when he was a young man in college he met a young lady and asked her out on a date, he said that instead of buying her flowers he bought her a plant. Well, she thought is was a little peculiar and told him so. He, told her if she didn't like the plant to give it back and she said no. She told him that it he wanted the plant back so bad, ask her to marry him and he could have the plant back. The rest is history which is why it came to be the "Worlds most expensive plant" which is now growing in their garden in Villa park..
Its a small world.
This story goes way back to the beginning, when we used to sell at the Orange County Market Place. This stone was ordered by the wife of a Pastor as a gift. She just happened to be the Ex-wife of a gentleman I used to work with. Small world at OCSD. This stone was Monstrous, probably about five hundred pounds easy. She bought it to put in the back yard and the only way to get to the backyard was through the house. She came back to tell me that they had to use a wheelbarrow to wheel it through the house. I'm glad i was not there for that one.
This mound of stones was commissioned by Kenton Beshore the Senior pastor at Mariners Church in Irvine, Ca. It is modeled after the Mound of stones that was erected in the Holy Bible representing the twelve tribes of Israel (Exodus39:14). In this case these stones represent the 12 defining moments of Mariners Church. It was an honor to make these stones for Kenton and for Mariners Church. We continue our fellowship with Mariners to this day as we a cintinully asked to make stones for special events, and we are humbly grateful.
I had the opportunity to make this stone for my High School. Redondo Union High School Located in Redondo Beach California. I havea lot of fond memories from my high school days and I'm glad to have the opportunity to place this stone on the senior walk to commemorate my class and classmates.
This is the best selling verse of all time, I have sold more of these stones with this verse on it than all others. I included this stone here as one of my customers wanted to see more stones in their natural settings, at home in their yards and gardens. Thanks Willis Frick for the suggestion.
